• their poop is white due to the amount of bones they eat
• female and male genitalia is almost impossible to tell apart
• some claim they are capable of eating aluminum pots and pans
• hyenas live in a matriarchal pack of up to 80. females stay for life but males are generally kicked out by age 2
• the older a hyena, the less of their ears there tends to be left, as they frequently bite and tear at each other’s ears
• hyenas are more closely related to felines but hunt with their mouths like canines
• hyenas sometimes cannibalize

hyenas are bizarre and awesome and don’t deserve their bad rap!
