Matt Canavan says that climate change protests will lead to kids relying on welfare, because apparently that’s the logical conclusion in his coal dust coated brain.

“Kids shouldn’t be striking against climate change inaction,” Liberal MP Canavan said, “they should be in school… learning about how to build mines, and drill for oil and gas.” He spoke with a strange hiss. His eyes were blank and inhuman. “They must learn. They must.”

“Yes, why struggle against the system? The system needs you… to shovel the coal… yes. You don’t want to be a dole bludger do you children?” he asked threateningly as he held aloft a lump of coal. “What jobs will there be in the future besides FIFO worker, and firefighters? Best to join us, join us forever…”

“All who do not worship it will be lost when the great fires come. We must worship it.” He began to chant. “Coal is your God now.”
